Affordable Smoke Machine Integration (Smart Plug Support)

I want a more affordable way to connect my smoke machine to ConnectedRoom. Currently, it requires a SwitchBot Hub and a Bot, which is too expensive. I'd like to be able to use a standard smart plug or a cheaper alternative to trigger the smoke machine.
